  25. *Rounded to the nearest second.  Image viewed once.  Windows was
  26.  loaded on top of a DOS session, so timings are somewhat longer
  27.  than normal.  (Ex:  Jview, in a normal Windows session, loads
  28.  nmxlb106.jpg in 1min1sec.)  Times go down accordingly.

  30. I feel this is the best Freeware JPEG viewer NOW for Windows!  Good job.  I
  31. am wondering though, what source code was used?  I am certain Jview uses
  32. version 3 source code, perhaps a late beta of version 2.  If Wecj uses
  33. version 4 source code, then it is possible this is the cause for the speed
  34. increase.  What happens when the other viewers come out with version 4
  35. source code?

  37. For now, Wecj is the best!  A nice readme to go along with it to explain
  38. the program more would be nice.  But as is, it is a wonderful viewer, quick
  39. and functional.  I drool to think how quick it would be on a 486/33..
  40. (You out there, Metallica?  :-)  If you are on a 486/33, times should be
  41. about 2.5x less..   Perhaps a greater disparity if you are on 16bit viewing
  42. hardware.

  44. It is recommended to use the grayscale viewing palette if quality is
  45. important. Else, the default color mode is very nice for quick views.  I
  46. cannot understand why on my 16bit display it looks so grainy, though..

  66.   How fast is FAST? Well, you'll have to judge for yourself.
  67.   This is certainly faster than anything that I've seen.
